BASE CAMP KIDS REOPENING POLICIES

Welcome back to Base Camp Kids! We are very excited to begin Nursery – 5th grade classes again on Wednesday Evenings at 6:30pm and during 2nd service (only) on Sunday Mornings beginning August 16th. As we begin Kids Church again in these uncertain times, we have some new policies and processes in place for the ministry:
  • There will be a central check-in stand for all ages located at the entrance to the Kids Ministry hallway (just down the first set of stairs). A volunteer will check your child in and will do a COVID19 symptom check at this time.
  • As per current church protocol, kids (unless they are unable to) and parents will need to wear masks during check-in. Kids may take off their masks once they are at their seat. Masks will need to be put on as children leave Kids Ministry until they reach the parking lot.
  • Teachers/helpers will not be required to wear masks during Kids Church.
  • Kids will use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of class.
  • Snacks and drinks will not be provided during service for any of the age groups. You may bring a labeled drink bottle for your child if necessary.
  • Babies through age 3 will be in a classroom in the kids ministry (not in the nursery upstairs)
  • PreK (age 4) through 5th grade will attend Kids Church in the Fellowship Hall where they will participate in worship, prayer, lesson and break-out groups. This age group will be socially distanced at tables.
  • COVID19 symptom check – if a child has ANY of the following symptoms, they will not be able to check-in to Kids Ministry:
    • Fever of 100.4 or greater
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Diarrhea
    • Headache
    • Body aches
    • Vomiting
  • A parent/guardian MUST accompany their child to the Kids Ministry check-in stand where a volunteer will sign your child in on a sheet.
  • Upon check-in, each parent will be given a ticket number. This ticket number MUST be presented to pick up your child after service at the Kids Ministry check-in stand. Children will not be released unless this number is presented. The tickets will be sanitized after each use.
  • Parents can check-in their child no earlier than 10 minutes before service, when the classrooms are ready and teachers/helpers are ready to receive them.
  • If a child arrives more than 10 minutes after service has started, they will not be able to check-in to the classroom. Instead, they may attend service with their parent/guardian in the overflow room, café, or sanctuary.
  • Due to COVID19 there will also be a limit on how many children can be in a classroom. Once we have reached this limit, we can no longer check-in any more children into the classes.
  • Once a child is checked-in to Kids Ministry, they will not be permitted to leave until they are checked-out by a parent/guardian.
  • Promptly after service has ended, please check-out your child from his/her classroom using the ticket number you were given at check-in.
  • Children will not be allowed to “hang out” in the classrooms before or after service.
  • Please ensure your child uses the bathroom prior to check-in.
Thank you for helping to maintain the health and safety of our precious children at Legacy!
