Throughout the year, Legacy is involved in a variety of community outreach programs.
Legacy’s Thursday Bread Ministry
Every Thursday, Legacy is pleased to provide bread to anyone in our neighborhood that could use it. If your family or neighbor is in need, or you simply would have use for some additional items during the week, please come by! We partner with two local Safeway stores that donate bread, bakery items, and other assorted items to us to distribute. The bread giveaway begins at noon on the front lawn of the church. Stop by, we would love to meet you! We provide coffee and also have volunteers available to pray with you if you would like.
Legacy’s Food Bank
God has provided us with a stocked food pantry, and we would be honored to lend a hand to anyone in need. If you or someone you know is out of food or basic household items, please contact us so that we can help. Alternatively, if you would like to donate non-perishable food items, household or personal items, or school supplies at any time, please bring your donations to the Info Booth at church. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, we can be reached Tuesday-Friday at [email protected] or (303) 940-7245. You can also speak with us on Sundays at church. Thank you!
Food for Hope is a wonderful local organization that combines the efforts of nearby churches and businesses to help keep Adams County children fed. There are thousands of children in our county who have little to no access to food when they are not at school, so to help with this, Food for Hope provides a bag full of healthy food to these children on their way home for the weekend. Food for Hope also organizes a HUGE Thanksgiving outreach that we have been proud to participate in. This past year, over 2500 fully-stocked Thanksgiving meal boxes were assembled and donated to needy families in Adams County! The Good News Club is a branch of Child Evangelism Fellowship that provides curriculum for churches and individuals to use in after school programs within local public elementary schools. Legacy currently has a working relationship with Thornton Elementary School and hosts a Good News Club at the school once a week. If you would like more information on what is included in the Good News Club curriculum, or you are interested in starting a Good News Club at your neighborhood school, please visit the Good News Club website.
Tennyson Center for Children
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
Once a month we have a chance to go out and impact the lives within our own community. We are so blessed to have been serving the children of Tennyson Center for Children for a number of years now. We get to show kids that have had no hope, the hope of Christ. We get to display the love of Christ to children that have never experienced it. It is a blessing that you do not want to miss out on. Please listen to the announcements for the next time we will be there, and join us! If you would like more information on the services and mission of the Tennyson Center for Children, please visit their website.
